Born in Padua in 1971, Agostino Rocco lives and works between Padua and Milan. The faces in the “fashionable/questionable” series are based on a short circuit between the artist’s obsession with small-sized Renaissance portraiture (Antonello Da Messina, Bellini, Lotto, Memling, Jan Van Eyck) with its share of abstraction and fashion images with their clear volumes and the luministic cut that is and wants to be photographic. Invisible brushstrokes if not to the touch and beautiful and imperfect faces, subtly incongruous in their proportions.
Ogni colore di pelle, età ed emozione.
Sono ritratti immaginari di inesistenti pur nella precisione del dettaglio e nella ricerca di una grana di pelle iperrealista tesa su soggetti irreali.
