Opening: Wednesday, October 21, 2026, 6:30 PM (in the presence of the artist)

Candy Snake Gallery, Milano

Candy Snake Gallery presents *The Evanescence of Time*, a new solo exhibition by Naomi Gilon—a project that explores how the present gradually transforms into memory. Through a selection of sculptures, objects, jewelry, photographs, and drawings, the artist reimagines the human body and everyday items, transmuting them into mysterious, uncanny forms that hover between the archetype of an artifact, a relic, and a fragment of a future yet to unfold.

The exhibition imagines a time when what we consider contemporary today might be viewed as the remnants of a vanished civilization. The body thus becomes an archive, the object a memory, and the present a future past. Blending mythology, science fiction, and a profound nostalgia for the present, *The Evanescence of Time* prompts the viewer to reflect on what time preserves, transforms, and—ultimately—renders ancient.

Gilon’s work stems from a profound reflection on the mutability of the body—conceived as a fluid territory where individual identity can be redefined within society. By leveraging the plastic and metamorphic properties of ceramics, the artist engages in a rigorous dialogue with the languages of pop culture, fashion, and youth subcultures. A Gothic aesthetic merges with glamour and post-internet influences, creating a visual short-circuit in which the uncanny—tinged with irony—takes root within the familiar, domestic spaces of our daily lives.

Naomi Gilon was born in 1996 in Arlon (Belgium) and lives and works in Brussels (Belgium).
