22 ottobre – 22 novembre 2025

Inauguration: Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 6:30 PM

Candy Snake Gallery, via degli Orombelli 15, Milano

Candy Snake Gallery is pleased to present Stone and Coral, a double solo exhibition by Diego Azzola and Gloria Tomasini.

The project brings together the works of the two young artists, which feature numerous references to the aquatic world. The details of stone fountain statues, depicted in Diego Azzola's paintings, meet the complex coral congregations modeled in ceramic in Gloria Tomasini's sculptures.

Diego Azzola (Bergamo, 2000) graduated in February 2023 from the G. Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo, where he also obtained a master's degree in the same discipline in 2025.

The primordial vital amalgam, which creates and destroys, assembles and decomposes, constitutes the fundamental premise of his research. Central to his work is the possibility of generating new life forms and fusing elements from contrasting fields, with a particular predilection for detail, found objects, and everyday objects. Special attention is paid to the aquatic and marine world, the drive toward modification, objectification, and the inanimate body.

Through painting, installation, and sculpture, he delves into the gap between the natural and the artificial, searching for new monsters and new identities, exploring the ambiguous limbo between the concept of life and the individual.

Gloria Tomasini (Lugano, 1999) is a Swiss-Croatian visual artist. She graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 2022 and currently lives in Zurich, where she is pursuing a Master's in Fine Arts at the ZHdK.

Her work focuses on manual skill and a direct connection with materials. For her, modeling is a meditative act, allowing one to enter a suspended space, outside of time. Her works emerge from this dimension, halfway between reality and imagination.

Through organic forms and minute details, she explores worlds reminiscent of nature and the dreamlike. Her works invite a sensitive, tactile perception, in which fragility and resistance coexist. Each piece is a small ecosystem, a fragment in which matter becomes experience.

Among the main exhibitions, he has exhibited at: Palazzo Parasi (Cannobio), Frankfurter Westend, Galerie (Frankfurt), Galleria Lorenzelli (Milan), Fomo Art Space (Zurich), Castel Belasi (Trentino).
