Candy Snake Gallery is pleased to present Goffamente Beati, a project by experimental artist and designer Stef Fusani, accompanied by a text by Sofia Gotti.
Living in Madrid since 2008, Fusani develops a research that investigates the relationship between the individual and reality, placing the body at the center as a tool for metabolizing external stimuli. His practice moves between art and design, exploring the origin of contemporary production processes through a deep dialogue with materials, their ecological and social histories, and their conceptual potential.
Goffamente Beati, whose title is taken from a poem by Sandro Penna, is inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s compositional theory, based on the balance between predictability and surprise, between similarity and contrast. Applied to the visual dimension, this principle translates into a plastic language made of rhythmic repetitions and sudden breaks, creating a formal tension that destabilizes the viewer’s perception.
The repetition of shapes and modules generates familiar patterns, while sudden changes in scale, direction or material interrupt the order, giving rise to a deliberately unstable composition. At the heart of the project is the use of copying as an anti-aesthetic and anti-consumerist gesture: the objects represented are recognizable but devoid of function, recreated by hand to remove them from the logic of the market and transform them into free elements, infinitely replicable.
Through this practice, Fusani constructs a non-linear and fragmented narrative, a visual constellation that subverts roles, logics and hierarchies of everyday reality. An operation that aspires to give shape to a new cosmology, a sort of contemporary Saturnalia, in which the rules are turned upside down and everything is potentially something else.
The installation includes elements drawn from the world of work and construction, objects that refer to physical effort and the body, evoking an apparent, illusory dynamism. The works are not intended to be activated, but to suggest — through matter and form — suspended possibilities, movements never completed, actions only imagined.

Stef Fusani (Milan 1989, lives and works in Madrid) trained in the field of design and holds a master’s degree in Geo-Design from the Design Academy of Eindhoven. He is currently a PhD student in Fine Arts with a specialization in sculpture at the Complutense University of Madrid. His research focuses on the use of biomaterials in sculpture and on the concepts of copy, mimesis and standardization in contemporary plastic processes.
He has exhibited in institutions such as MAMbo in Bologna, MAAT in Lisbon and MAXXI in Rome, and in independent galleries and spaces in Madrid, Milan, London, Berlin, New York and Miami. Founder of the experimental studio STANDARD404, he has worked as an independent curator, co-founded the collective Molto Molto Fuori and is currently part of Cinema Parentesi, a curatorial project dedicated to video-essays and audiovisual installations.
